AGH University Main Library

The thematic range of the collection assembled by the Main Library is consistent with the subject matter of the researches and faculties being carried out at the University. It contains, among others, the issues connected with mining, drilling, metallurgy, foundry, materials technology, ceramics, electrotechnology, automatics, electronics, computer science, mechanical engineering, robotics, geology, geophysics, engineering and environment protection, geodesy, power engineering, management, nuclear physics and engineering, mathematics, chemistry, social sciences.

The basic types of collections are: books, journals, special collections (standards, patent specifications, maps, technical and business publications, old books, theses defended at the University).

Information about the books are contained in a card catalogue and a computer catalogue.

The Main Library’s collection items are available on the spot or can be lent out locally or through other libraries.

AGH university employees, PhD students and students have access to subscribed e-sources from any place in the world, provided they have an active library account. This mode of access does not include sources in case of which licence terms or technical requirements do not allow such use.

Access on the University intranet (without an individual login) is possible on faculties which registered their IP ranges at the Main Library. Authorised users can also use the e-sources at the Main Library reading rooms provided licence agreements allow it.

Some electronic sources are available only in the Reference Department or in the Special Collections Department.
