Using the catalogues
By writing at katalog[at]bg.agh.edu[dot]pl you can find out if the Library has an item that is not catalogued in the online catalogue; this applies to items published before 1992.
Information about the collections held in the Main Library and in the libraries of the University network can be found in the computer and traditional catalogues.
AGH University catalogue of library collections
The online catalogue contains information about the collection of the Main Library and the collections of selected faculty libraries. It includes works received by the Library since 1992, in some cases also earlier.
Only books from the Library's core collection, i.e. those with call numbers beginning with I, II or III, can be ordered electronically - ordered books can be collected within 10 days.
Electronic ordering does not work for books located in the Open Stacks Area.
Search for card catalogues arranged alphabetically by author's surname or, in the case of collective works, by title. Books in this catalogue have call numbers starting with I, II, or III - this indicates the location of the book in the Library's Storage room. The Electronic card catalogue covers ONLY the collection of the Main Library.
To order a book, select the "Order this item" button below the scanned card and fill in the order form and choose a place to collect the book
Catalogue of doctoral theses defended at AGH University
Biographical descriptions of all doctoral dissertations from the collections of the AGH Main Library are available in the AGH University Catalogue of library collections. These are mainly dissertations defended at AGH, starting from 1928. Ordering dissertations in paper form is only possible in the traditional way (on reverses) in the Special Collections Reading Room.
All dissertations defended at AGH since 2007 are also available in electronic form on terminals in the Special Collections Reading Room. Older dissertations are being digitised and gradually included in the collection of electronic documents available on the terminals.
Cartographic collection card catalogue
The card catalogue of cartographic collections includes items up to the year 2007. It is a so-called cross-catalogue, also called a dictionary catalogue. Catalogue cards are arranged alphabetically by the surnames of authors, compilers and editors, and by titles and subject headings.
Information about the cartographic publications received by the Main Library since 2008 is only available in the AGH Computer Catalogue. It is gradually supplemented with older publications.
Ordering of cartographic materials is only possible in the traditional way after filling in the reverses in the Special Collections Reading Room, 2nd floor, room 213.
